Al-Jadeed information reported that Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros al-Rai praised the head of the Marada Movement, Suleiman Franjieh, in front of the “quintet.”
According to Al-Jadeed, Al-Rahi confirmed to Al-Khamsia that he did not object to Franjieh’s nomination “because he is a Christian and the son of an ancient political family.”
