In numbers… these are the parliamentary blocs that will be extended to the municipalities tomorrow

MTV broadcast a report this evening, in which it presented the parliamentary bloc map that will be extended to the municipal councils tomorrow, Thursday, in the House of Representatives.

The report stated that the legislative session requires 65 representatives to be held, while any proposal requires a relative ordinary majority to be approved, indicating that the blocs that will vote with the extension to municipalities are distributed as follows:

The Development and Liberation Bloc consists of 15 deputies

The Loyalty to the Resistance bloc will add 15 votes to the extension fund

– The Strong Lebanon Bloc will participate and 17 of its deputies will vote for the extension, in addition to 3 deputies from the Tashnag Party.

The National Accord Bloc, with its 5 representatives, will vote in favor of the extension proposal

The three representatives of the Independent National Bloc are going to extend their term

Representative Jihad Al-Samad supports the extension and was the one who proposed the law

The 8 representatives of the Democratic Gathering will attend, but with a technical postponement related to the security situation and not with an extension

The blocs that refuse the extension are:

The Strong Republic Bloc and its 19 representatives will not attend on the basis that every postponement of a constitutional entitlement is a postponement of the establishment of the state.

– 4 representatives from the “Lebanese Phalange” Party will be absent due to their refusal to secure a quorum and facilitate the extension.

The 6 Change Representatives will not attend tomorrow because they refuse to hold any session other than the session to elect a president

The 4 representatives of the Renewal Bloc will not participate due to the continued flow of power and the violation of the principle of rotation of power

The 3 representatives of the Change Alliance will also not participate, while the 6 representatives of the Moderation Bloc will not boycott the session, but their tendency is not to vote for the extension.

– The New Lebanon Bloc, consisting of 4 representatives, will vote against the proposal

– Representative Michel Daher will not participate, while Representatives Charbel Massad and Abdul Rahman Al-Bizri will refuse to extend.

Representatives Halima Al-Qaqour and Sinita Zarazir will vote against the extension proposal, while Representative Jean Talouzian will take the same step.

Representative Jamil Al-Sayyed is waiting for the amendment proposal to be taken into account, and if not, he will vote against the extension

– Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Elias Bou Saab, will vote against the proposal on the basis that last year he submitted a proposal to extend for 3 months and the government did not take it up, so he is against the extension in the form proposed.

The report concluded by saying, “According to the representatives who decided on their options, a quorum will be secured by 84 representatives, and 16 representatives will vote against the extension, which will be approved by obtaining 67 votes.”
