Information Minister Ziad Makari said that the consultative meeting held at the Saraya today between Prime Minister Najib Mikati and the ministers stressed the importance of protecting civil peace in these delicate circumstances.

While reading details of the meeting’s deliberations, Makari pointed out that the meeting discussed the mechanism for classifying displaced Syrians between legal and illegal, explaining that the possibility of deporting Syrian prisoners in Lebanon was discussed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations in order to reduce overcrowding inside Lebanese prisons.

Makari indicated that governors will be instructed to close all violating institutions belonging to Syrians, stressing that all concerned authorities will follow up on the implementation of all measures taken on an ongoing basis.

Likewise, Makari explained that it was decided during the consultative meeting to verify the deficiencies of food, supplies, and fuel, in addition to ensuring that the supply chain is available normally and soundly, noting that the necessary food supplies are available in Lebanon for a minimum of 3 months.

In conclusion, the Minister of Information announced that the Council of Ministers is holding a new session on the 26th of this month.
