A decision by the Governor of the North regarding the displaced Syrians. This is what he requested


The Governor of North Lebanon, Judge Ramzi Nahra, issued a decision in which he asked municipalities and mukhtars in villages where there are no municipalities, to control the movements of displaced Syrians and take the immediate decisions necessary to remove all encroachments and violations on public and private property.

The text of the decision stated:

“In reference to previous circulars issued by His Excellency the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, especially Circular No. 42 / p.m. Date 5/2/2022 and Circular No. 74/p. dated 9/12/2023, and pursuant to Cabinet Resolution No. 1 dated 9/11/2023,

In order to ensure the public interest, the mayors, each in their respective capacity, are requested to circulate to municipalities and mukhtars in villages where there are no municipalities that they adhere to the following:

First: Preventing any gatherings of displaced Syrians, working to control their movements, and immediately reporting any suspicious movements so that the necessary and necessary investigations can be conducted against them.

Second: Emphasis on conducting an immediate survey of displaced Syrians living in the municipality and creating a database about them as quickly as possible, as well as working to update the information related to them on a periodic and continuous basis.

Third: Take the necessary immediate decisions to remove all encroachments and violations on public and private property and infrastructure, and request support when necessary.

Fourth: It is completely prohibited for displaced Syrians to drive unlicensed private or public cars under penalty of confiscation and seizure.

Fifth: Strictly prohibiting, seizing and confiscating unlicensed motorcycles, and completely prohibiting all displaced Syrians after eight o’clock at night until six in the morning.

Sixth: Strictness in suppressing violations related to commercial shops that are invested within the scope of the municipality by Syrians without possessing the necessary licenses, organizing arrest reports against them, warning them of the necessity of immediate closure, and in the event of no response, informing them of closing them with red wax, referring the violators to the competent judiciary, and depositing with us copies of the arrest reports and procedures. taken in this regard.”
